Workshop on Cyber Security at RIMT Management Campus

With an aim to sensitize the students of MCA, MBA, and BCA on cyber security and Online money management an interactive seminar was organized at RIMT-Regional Institute of Management and Technology . A delegation comprising of Mr.Harpreet Khattar (Founder & Director), Miss Shandy (Business Development Officer) from Secugenious Security Solutions Pvt. Ltd. visited the RIMT-Management Campus for the session which was attended by more than 140 students . During the interaction with the students Mr. Harpreet Khattar guided the students on the need of Cyber Security, Ways to secure E Mail and online accounts , Legal hacking techniques to name a few. He also clarified the doubts of the students on websites through which earning is possible by executing various projects of choice. Speaking to the media after the program the students shared that they found the program very informative and beneficial.. Dr. S.N Panda Principal Regional Institute of Management and Technology who is an expert in the area of Cyber Security also shared his views with the students . In his message to the students on the occasion Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal Chairman RIMT-Group said that since Technology is a double edged sword, and as it cannot restrain itself to be applied for noble intentions only hence should be used judiciously . RIMT wins Best Design Award in National round of Indo US Robo League held at IIT, Mumbai

A team of five students from RIMT Institutes, Mandi Gobindgarh participated in the National round of Indo US Robo League held at IIT, Mumbai. This round consisted of three main events. The 4th semester students Jaspreet Singh (B.Tech ME), Akash Joshi (B.Tech IT), Deepak Arora (B.Tech ME), Dhananjay Kumar Jha (B.Tech EE), Ayush Sharma (B.Tech ECE) participated in the Robotic Arm competition. They made a Touch pad controlled, five degree of freedom high tech Robotic Arm for which they were awarded as the Best Designed Robot and were honored with Gold Medals. Approximately, 200 Zonal winner teams from over 125 engineering colleges across India participated in this National round. Jaspreet Singh & Deepak Arora designed the innovative award winning mechanical structure of robot, Ayush Sharma & Dhananjay Kumar Jha created the electronic circuitry of the robot and Akash Joshi programmed the robot. This team of five students was felicitated at the college campus by Mr. Vijayant Bansal, Vice Chairman, RIMT Institutes and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Director, RIMT Engineering Campus.

BeQuizzed at RIMT

Regional Institute of Management & Technology, Mandi Gobindgarh, recently organized an Inter- College Quiz competition ‘BeQuizzed’ 2013 on Business & IT .The event was inaugurated by Er. S.K.Anand, Advisor to RIMT Group . A total of 8 teams from different colleges of the Group participated in the event . The 1st round of the QUIZ was based on Current Affairs, 2nd round comprised of questions from IT, 3rd round was based on questions from corporate world and 4th round was a Visual Round. The students were seen enthusiastically supporting and cheering the participants. A separate audience round was also a part of the program . A team comprising of Sudeep, Shagun and Adheer ( MBA 4th Sem, ) from RIMT-Institute of Management and Computer Technology bagged the first position. The runner up for the event was a team from Regional Institute of Management & Technology comprising of Suvaid, Mohd Junaid ( MBA 2nd Sem) and Ajay Chauhan (MCA 4th Sem). Medals and certificates were distributed to the winners and participants . In his message to the students on the occasion Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal Chairman RIMT-Group exhorted the students to work for their all round development. In his address Er. S K Anand, Advisor, RIMT Group, appreciated the initiative taken by the faculty and students of RIMT for organizing the event. Industrial cum Technical visit to Kandhari Beverages Private Limited

An Industrial cum Technical visit has been organized by the RIMT-IET ,Mandi Gobindgarh for students of Electronics and Communication stream (2nd year),at Kandhari Beverages Private Limited ,Authorized bottling firm for Coca Cola Company, Nabipur,Punjab. The visit was executed in two successive days dated 13th June, 2013 & 14th June 2013 as per the batch allocation. The objective of the visit was to familiarize the post first year students with the automation techniques via Programmable Logic Controller mechanisms used for bottling and visualize a practical look of the equipments and the mechanized heavy inventory of the firm. The complete visit was approved and facilitated by Mr Jagmohan Singh ,Quality Analyst, KBPL throughout. Mrs. Monika Mehra (H.O.D ECE) stated that the department in coordination with all faculty members is strongly dedicated for the students in this day to day competitive world to well equip the students with theoretical and practical quotient as well. A total of 135 enthusiastic inspiring technocrats of ECE Branch subdivided into two batches of 66 and 69 students coordinated by assisted by following faculty members Er.Harvinder Singh Josan (Visit In-Charge), Er.Hitesh Pahuja, Er. Amanveer Kaur, Er. Shaveta Goyal and Er. RavinderPal Singh comprised the complete strength of the visit in the two day Endeavour.
